At Gateway Laser, we specialize in providing precision laser cutting services with an emphasis on very small parts
that require exceptional edge quality and extremely close tolerances. Over the past few years, laser cutting using
carbon dioxide and Nd-YAG lasers has been utilized to produce high precision parts with relatively large features
and little concern for edge quality. Unfortunately, extensive "cleaning" such as electropolishing or micro
sandblasting have been needed to overcome the problems associated with these technologies.
The need for more precise features, better edge quality, smaller heat affected zones, and lower cost led to
Gateway Laser's development of the High Resolution Laser Microcutting process. With this process, Gateway can
produce features below .002" in size for applications such as slots for masks, hole orifices for gas flow restrictors,
slits in optical apertures, patterns with good edges and sharp radii, and tubular parts with specific patterns.
